- Palm capturePalm print readers Palm prints’ complex characteristics, such as ridges and palm lines, make it possible to provide a clear outcome. Therefore, palm prints and fingerprints are usually used together to ensure higher accuracy of individual identification. For this reason, palm print readers are most commonly used in law enforcement, homeland security and access control applications. Palm print recognition systems use optical, thermal or tactile methods to extract the characteristics of palm prints, including unique scars, creases and texture.
