Futronic’s FS88H is an enhanced version of FS80H fingerprint scanner. The FS88H was certified by FBI to be compliant with PIV-071006 Image Quality Specification for Single Finger Reader. The scanner is also listed in the US General Services Administration (GSA) FIPS 201 Evaluation Program Approved Product List. The FS88H meets the US Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (FIPS 201) for Personal Identification Verification (PIV) of Federal Employees and Contractors.
The scanner is suitable for high-traffic applications like border control, identity card, driver license, election or any other type of civilian AFIS, as it is able to capture high quality fingerprint images almost without distortions and has a rugged sensor.
Live Finger Detection (LFD) is performed by a separate electronic circuit build into FS88H. This feature allows to reject fake fingers made from silicone rubber, play-doh or other materials. The LFD can be optionally enabled from user application.
Each individual scanner is traceable as it has a unique serial number factory-programmed into the USB Device Descriptor. Applications can read this number and store it into database duringe each scan. This feature is important for security systems and government identity management projects.
FS88 OEM module is available for customers who want to integrate the scanner into their hardware.
The Kojak is a compact ten-finger biometric scanner which is manufactured by Integrated Biometrics.
The reader is based on proprietary LES (Light Emitting Sensor) technology, which ensures high-quality fingerprint scanning even when dirty, dry or rough fingers are scanned. The large platen allows to capture four-print slaps, dual thumbs and single flats. Also, the scanner can capture rolled fingerprints.
The manufacturer specifies that the device has low power consumption and light weight, which make it suitable for mobile applications.
iD-USB SC from SecuGen is an USB device that combines fingerprint scanner and smart card reader.
The fingerprint scanner uses the same sensor as SecuGen’s Hamster Plus. The optical sensor features automatic finger placement detection that is used for enabling fingerprint scanning.
The embedded smart card reader is based on HID OMNIKEY 3121 hardware. It is compliant with ISO7816 and EMV 2000 level 1 standards. 5V, 3V and 1.8V smart cards are accepted. The reader supports PC/SC and PC/SC-based APIs.
Futronic’s FS82 USB 2.0 Fingerprint Smart Card Scanner is a combination of FS80H fingerprint scanner hardware and ISO7816 smart card reader.
The fingerprint and smart card readers can be used together for two-factor authentication. A fingerprint template is stored on smart card and can be compared with a fingerprint scanned with the fingerprint scanner. Also the fingerprint reader and smartcard reader can be used separately.
The fingerprint reader part features precise optics and infra-red illumination that allow to scan wet, dry, blurred and other problematic fingerprints reliably.
