Aratek’s BM5510 is a hand-held smart terminal for mobile fingerprints and faces capture.
The device is equipped with an optical fingerprint reader for scanning single fingers and 5 MP rear camera for face or barcode capture.
According to the manufacturer, the device has wireless communication support, which includes 2G/3G networks, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as GPS navigation. The manufacturer also specifies that the terminal has IP54 dustproof and waterproof casing.
BM5510 is provided with pre-installed Android OS and allows to run custom applications.
EikonTouch 710 from DigitalPersona is a PIV (FIPS 201) certified fingerprint reader, based on TCS1C capacitive sensor.
The manufacturer specifies that the device has SteelCoat coating, which can withstand more than 2 million touches. Also specified the rugged IP63-rated casing, meaning that the device is sealed from contact with dust and withstands spraying water.

The fingerprint and smart card readers can be used together for two-factor authentication. A fingerprint template is stored on smart card and can be compared with a fingerprint scanned with the fingerprint scanner. Also the fingerprint reader and smartcard reader can be used separately.
The fingerprint reader part features precise optics and infra-red illumination that allow to scan wet, dry, blurred and other problematic fingerprints reliably.
