SecuGen Hamster Pro 20 is a compact optical fingerprint reader which captures single flat fingers. The scanner is compliant with FIPS 201 / PIV (FIPS-201) and Mobile ID FAP20 requirements.
According to the manufacturer, Hamster Pro 20 is able to reject spoof fingerprint images and latent fingerprints, thus preventing certain types of fraud like using photocopied fingerprints. The scanner works well with dry, aged or scarred fingerprints.
Hamster Pro 20 has IP65 rating, meaning that the scanner’s internals are completely sealed and protected from dust and water projected from a nozzle. The fingerprint reader is based on scratch-resistant and impact-proof sensor, therefore it is suitable for certain high-traffic and mobile applications.
iD-USB SC/PIV from SecuGen is an USB device that combines fingerprint scanner and smart card reader. The device is certified by FBI as PIV-071006 (FIPS-201) compliant fingerprint reader.
The fingerprint scanner uses the same PIV-certified sensor as SecuGen’s Hamster IV. The optical sensor features automatic finger placement detection that is used for enabling fingerprint scanning.
The embedded smart card reader is based on HID OMNIKEY 3121 hardware. It is compliant with ISO7816 and EMV 2000 level 1 standards. 5V, 3V and 1.8V smart cards are accepted. The reader supports PC/SC and PC/SC-based APIs.
EikonTouch 710 from DigitalPersona is a PIV (FIPS 201) certified fingerprint reader, based on TCS1C capacitive sensor.
The manufacturer specifies that the device has SteelCoat coating, which can withstand more than 2 million touches. Also specified the rugged IP63-rated casing, meaning that the device is sealed from contact with dust and withstands spraying water.
Technically the FS88 module is an FS88H scanner without plastic case and USB cable. The module is intended for customers who want to integrate FS88 into their own products, like handheld POS devices or portable voter registration stations.
The FS88 scanner is FIPS 201 / PIV compliant device and is listed in the US General Services Administration (GSA) FIPS 201 Evaluation Program Approved Product List. The FS88 sensor is rugged enough to be used in mobile solutions that may require heavy user interaction in various environments.
